Whenever the media receives confirmation that Tiger Woods is, in fact, still alive, everyone gets their panties wet in a sports-tizzy. Today, Eldrick played golf on the public stage for the first time in months, which generated some surrrious hype. In case you just hopped out the DeLorean, Tiger has been battling chronic knee and back injuries for years now. The chronic injuries and pain ultimately culminated into the lowest point of Woods’ career in terms of athleticism, when it was documented that Tiger could barely walk after his third back surgery this past winter.
Fast forward 6-months to today:
During an exhibition round at Congressional Country Club this morning, Tiger told the media that he was “progressing nicely” when asked about his timetable in terms of returning to PGA tournaments.
During an exhibition round at Congressional Country Club this morning, Tiger shot 3 consecutive tee-offs into the water on the 10th hole.
Ouch…. Looks like the only thing that Tiger is “progressing nicely” toward is retirement. On the bright side, at least Eldrick is getting in some early practice for retirement by spending some additional time on the water (read that hyperlinked Tiger story by Wright Thompson; fascinating shit).
