Smush Parker Is Saltier Than Movie Theater Popcorn? Or at least everyone on the internet thought for a while…
Background info: For those who don’t know, Smush Parker is a former NBA player and Los Angeles Laker. Parker is known for having played for the Lakers during the “dark ages” between the Kobe-Shaq era and Kobe-Gasol era. Smush ended up playing 2 full seasons for LA at point guard. The Lakers most definitely suck during those 2 years, there’s no question about it. The only debate about that team is whether or not the Lakers performance was worse than the relationship between Kobe and Parker.
Kobe and Smush notoriously didn’t get along. More than that, Kobe would go on record with the media saying how much he disliked Smush. So I guess in light of that information, it makes sense that Smush wasn’t exactly pumped out the farewell finale for Kobe last night…
Here’s the problem, the @SmushParker Twitter account is a straight up parody. According to TMZ, Smush is denying that the Twitter account is his. When you go back and look into @SmushParker’s previous tweets, it’s clear that the account is a fraud.
Ok, so people who fell for the fake account are unquestionably kind of stupid. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the account didn’t belong to the real Smush Parker. People on social media have a tendency to like and retweet things without any god damn vetting of material.
That said, this speaks volumes about how bad of a relationship Parker had with Bryant. The relationship was so bad that people immediately believe the account was real. I mean, it would make sense that Parker would be part of Club Hate Hard. It’ always fun to remember how big of a dick Kobe really could be. And Smush Parker probably knows better than most how big of a dick Kobe is. Kobe Bryant actually said the following about Parker, a former teammate:
“Smush Parker was the worst,” Bryant said. “He shouldn’t have been in the NBA, but we were too cheap to pay for a point guard. We let him walk on.”
While we’re at it, let’s highlight another fun douchebag thing that Kobe said about Smush:
“I almost won an MVP with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown on my team.”
Hmm, I changed my mind. After reviewing those comments and the douchiness that Kobe has shown Smush over the years, I might have fallen for the parody account as well. Even though it turns out the @SmushParker twitter account is a fake, I guarantee Smush’s real comments in real time last night as he watched Kobe jack up 50 shots were far worse and derogatory than the tweets from the account.
And you know it boy.
